Econsultancy recently hosted a Google Hangout on the subject of whether mobile internet can aid the High Street (specifically footfall traffic) as a part of Internet Week Europe 2012. Please njote – we suffered audio driopout during the start of this event. If you have problems hearing this video correctly, please skip to 16.05 where the issue is resolved. We want to encourage retailers/government/UK economy to try and see the advantages that mobile presents when it comes to bringing consumers in to shop — rather than just seeing it as a threat to drive purchases elsewhere (Amazon..Etc.) Additionally, m-commerce provides many opportunities to small business and independent retail that they might not already be taking advantage of. Econsultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein hosted and Linus Gregoriadis, our Research Director, covers key data from our report. Participants: Ashley Friedlein, CEO and Co-founder, Econsultancy — @AshleyFriedlein Linus Gregoriadis, Research Director, Econsultancy — @LinusGreg Ali Ahmed, CEO, Lutebox — @syedaliahmed Guy Douglas, Project Manager, MoLo Rewards/ ATCM — fairbanksguy Finlay Clark, Industry Manager, Retail, Google — @finclark Tim Dunn, Director of Strategy, Isobar Mobile and Econsultancy Trainer– @timmcdunn For further background please see: An Internet Week Europe event. #IWE #portasreview #mobilesaveshighstreet
