How You Can Start Your Own On-Line Publishing Business
Information has always been and always will be the most profitable item to sell. Once obtained, there is little or no production cost and there are plenty of information hungry customers just waiting to buy from you. Think about it, how many informational books and reports have you purchased over the last year?
Make some real money for a change! Many successful on-line businesses offer books and reports as one of their main sources of revenue. At PSP, on-line book and report downloads have been our most popular products, by far. You can start by selling individual items or package several in a zipped downloadable file or even on CD or diskette. One of the best ways to market smaller, related reports is in a bundled package. Take a dozen or more reports on marketing, for instance, and package them together on a CD or floppy disk. Offer these on a web page with your sales pitch. Always include a list of the titles and any other information that makes your product different. Being unique is a big plus.
Some savvy net marketers are even using portions of the text from several reports to build their own unique e-books and command high prices for this information. There are several free and low cost e-book creation software packages available now that will enable you to do this yourself easily!
And don’t just rely on reports you have purchased with resale rights. Be creative and include some information you have written that is only available from you. It doesn’t take a lot of time to research a NEW topic and write a few pages about it. Even try combining some of your own information material with information from reports you acquire with reprint rights. People are always looking for new and innovative information.
Don’t forget about magazine advertising either. Many people with computers still are not connected to the internet and will respond to small ads in magazines for information. You can offer diskettes or CD’s with information related to the magazine content and make some good money. This takes some time to get ads placed and do testing so consider this only after you have your on-line publishing business up and running.
