Financial Crisis Blame

Once again the election cycle finds itself facing an economic crisis square in the face. To have any chance at victory the candidates had better heed the advice given Bill Clinton in 1992, “it’s the economy, stupid”.

So, which candidate, McCain or Obama, has the better plan to help the economy recover? Before we can answer that question we need to know what government can do to help the economy recover.

Anyone who has studied economic cycles and government actions and results knows the obvious direction government policy needs to take to help a sick economy.

Play the videos. They show that Democratic Senator Chris Dodd, Representative Barney Frank, President Clinton, Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator Hary Reid and a hand full of others in Washington who blocked, stalled and killed legislation that would have prevented the financial meltdown.

Obama mysteriously disappears when tough votes on potential economic crisis come up. He voted “present” when the Senate Bill co-sponsored by John McCain came before the Senate. The bill would have placed more regulation on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and probably would have prevented the sub-prime mortgage mess that started the chain reaction leading to our current economic meltdown. Even President Bush and Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told the Congress that legislation needed to be passed or a financial crisis would unfold. The Democratic controlled Congress just sat on their hands and blocked any attempts by Republicans to solve the forboding crisis.

There is no question who is to blame for our economic mess. It lays at the feet of of the Democrats including Barack Obama.
