- Robin Hood Obama - |
Robin Hood Obama wants to take from those making over $250,000 and give it to those making less. He is not only going to make the wealthy (and upper middle income earners) plus small businesses pay more taxes but he is going to make them pay enough to fund his “big government” programs plus enough so he can give lower income households a handout. That is a Marxist principal of wealth redistribution practiced in communist societies and rejected by our founding fathers.
Let’s try and get our minds around this concept and see if it even makes sense. Obama says President Bush’s tax cuts are favoring the wealthy, so let’s see what percent of income taxes are paid by the wealthy.
Looking at the latest IRS Income Tax data for 2001 through 2006 here is what the Top 5% of income earners pay as a percent of all federal income taxes.
2001 - 53.25%
2002 - 53.80%
2003 - 54.36%
2004 - 57.13%
2005 - 59.67%
2006 - 60.14%
It seems that under President Bush the burden of paying America’s income taxes has been increasing on the Top 5% of income earners (approximately those making $150,000 or more) already. Even more than under President Clinton.
So, let’s see what the bottom 50% of income earners (roughly those making less than $32,000) pay as a percent of all federal income taxes under the Bush Presidency.
2001 - 3.97%
2002 - 3.50%
2003 - 3.46%
2004 - 3.30%
2005 - 3.07%
2006 - 2.99%
Hmmm, it seems the less fortunate in America pay very little income tax and even pay less now than when President Bush initially took office from Bill Clinton.
Should we support Barack Obama’s unprecidented plan to tax the wealthy even more to pay for his government programs and redistribution their income to the middle class? Is it right for the wealthy to be forced by government to not only pay more of the tax burden but to pay for government payments to lower income earners?
I don’t think our country can handle a higher tax burden at the top without causing a loss of jobs and causing the failure of many, many small businesses. Besides, I don’t think such a policy is fair. The last Democrat President, Bill Clinton, promised lower middle class taxes before he was President, then he changed his mind once in office. Let’s not go down the path of bigger government and the adoption of the Marxist policy of income redistribution. Just say, “NO” to Robin Hood Obama and his tax plan.
Like Bill Clinton, he’s going to figure out that he needs everyone to pay more taxes in order to fund his “big government” programs. — That is, if we have any economy left after he and the Democrat Congress start in on us.
