Good book -about a dry website!,
This is not a dry business book, although Linked-In IS a dry business networking entity
and this book attempts to enthuse the many people who have signed-on to Linked-In
-only to find it decidedly un-Facebook-like!
After reading this book, I still haven't progressed much farther with Linked-In
despite being enthused and educated while reading it.
If you suspect that Linked-In could really be the avenue of progress for your youthful ambition
DO buy this book, it WILL help!

|A good basic guide to using Linked In, but doesn't fulfill the title,
I've had a LinkedIn profile for some time now, but I keep feeling that I'm not utilizing LinkedIn to its full potential as a great place to connect with other professionals or potential clients.
Jamie Turner's book is written in an accessible, casual tone (can get a bit corny for me) without jargon, and it's not a dry business book. Actually, this book is quite short. I read the whole thing in 15 minutes, and there's lots of numbered steps with information broken down clearly enough for someone new to LinkedIn.
While the promise of the Title is "How to Make Money Marketing Your Business" I didn't see any specifics on using LinkedIn to make money. Instead it's a good overview of how to create a good quality profile, join groups and participate in discussions. This book would be handy next to your computer as you fill in a LinkedIn Profile, following the steps outlined.
I will say that Turner mentions LinkedIn "Answers" which is a special section that allows you to ask industry experts for answers to questions you have. That can be a great resource for askers, but as Turner points out, becoming an expert that answers questions in your industry could potentially create some good connections for you.
