They were once the viewing choice of a few Turkish housewives, but almost overnight, the country's soap operas have taken the Middle East by storm - and created a multi-million dollar industry. it is not just making fun of others or having relationship with everyone, even it is not boring... Aski Memnu is the Hit! 2/3 watched the last episode , this is freaking crazy !
correction, tht show never came up in the Arab world till summer 2010, whatt brought fame to turkish soap operas was Gümüs or Noor (Arabic version), however, after following A?k-? Memnu, I believe its way better than Noor. however, there are drawbacks. for e.g. a 2 minute scene could be fixed on one character who is doing nothing except for thinking silently. i find it quite boring.
yeah some shows are nice, actors are beautiful but they are not very creative. always same subject. a rich family living in istanbul, they have family issues, love affairs. it becomes boring. btw i'm turkish.
