Factory Farming: A REPORT CARD – Part 1 of 5
We have a huge health and environmental scandal in our modern industrial system of meat and poultry production. The damage documented in today's factory farms far exceeds the damage that was depicted in Upton Sinclair's novel, The Jungle, a book written over 100 years ago. Some scientists have gone so far as to call the condemned current factory farm practices as "mini Chernobyls." The European Union stands virtually alone in establishing strong health and environmental standards for the industry. In the US and elsewhere, the meat and poultry industry is dominated by dangerous uses of arsenic, antibiotics, growth hormones and by the dumping of massive amounts of sewage in fragile waterways and environments. This video documents the vast catastrophic impact on the environment and public health. As one observer noted, if terrorists did this, we would be up in arms, but when it is a fortune 500 company, it is just "business as usual." In 1906, public outrage at the scandal exposed by Sinclair led to major reforms that cleaned up a corrupt and dangerous system. @UMakeTheConnection I totally detest corporations, the family farm, such an honest productive life, thank you Diane, a? strong connection in my life.
When I would look for a job on the internet, I would see: We? are a Fortune 500 company, it made me want to puke, nothing about family, about what is right, just touting their success and making a dollar. G--- had a clipping in his toolbox about the company we worked for, he was fired for being honest and a good worker, I told him to take that crap off off his toolbox. Their is no pride in working for corporate nazi scum.

@canisdormit - thank you, actually my mother is dying at this very moment from? parkinson's disease, which has taken most of her life away...chemicals in your body are not meant to be there, she is now in a semi-coma, and actually she weighs only 88 lbs, but thank you for your nice thoughts..and may god bless you too..
@canrsiegrl? I'm not your mom, I'm thin and healthy.
@canisdormit you will know it when you get sick...cancer, diabetes and many? other diseases are caused by the very food you eat.
I just went organic as well. I can't beleive I lived all this time and never knew about this. I am also going on my 3rd round of chemo for my cancer..no wonder...i've been being poisoned all these years...this is terrible...if everyone would learn? this and go organic/vegan, this would HAVE to stop
All this destruction to make a profit........SEARCH "ZEITGEIST"? and see how we can change.
Barbaric Culture
The killing of animals has been justified on the grounds that meat consumption is necessary for survival, we are now learning that it is possible to be healthy and strong while following a meat-free diet. What was once deemed "necessary" is not, and in fact, innumerable recent studies have shown that a meat-based diet is unhealthy as well as one of the primary causes? of devastation to our planet.
If it's not 'necessary' killing, then how can we justify it?
So true my friend thank you for sending all the wonderful video's? Please give your baby a hug from me and Meadow...Hugs and Love always
about how animal? are treated i think they should give them a bubble bath and some fancy champagne and seat them on gold houses............. i don't care JUST DON'T PUT A FREAKING BOONE IN MY TYSON!

Ironically, the people in factory farming countries like America and Australia are the ones who think they have the moral high ground to? criticize Japan for whaling, which is actually on a much smaller and controlled scale compared to factory farming.
Such hypocrisy.
wow? this is crazy
@giaisbomb It's so disgusting, that's true and people don't realize all that waste is seeping in to the ground water, rivers and streams. It causes diseases in fish and other sea? animals. Of course, that is only the by-product of the true horrors and as you said, the animals who are unwillingly trapped inside - born for one purpose and that is to die.
Factory Farming sucks. This footage here makes me feel ill, how chickens are "treated". I noticed the last time I flew on a plane and was low enough---I could see all this waste water? in areas from these factory farms. I saw many, many of these areas. I felt awful for the Animals who were trapped inside.
Kirstie Clements opened the LOreal Melbourne fashion festival (LMFF) Designer awards with a bravo to Australian Wool Innovation.
Fashion starts with the fabric", wool is the best fibre, and we must get its message out to the world, preened style-setter Ms Clements, to a roaring round of applause from the trendy fashion elitists
Wool is a pleasure to work with. I love the light bouncy handle? to suiting wool and it sews and presses so perfectly. There is no better fibre to tailor with.
