@donnafromnyc It's people? like you that allow this to happen to any industry. We are working people. And, as working people we have the right to unions and collective bargaining and free speach. And, until the Republicans takes those rights away we will not stop our fight!!!!!!
@donnafromnyc Thank god that nener happened. Eastern was f fine company till that BA$TARD came into our lives. I hope? they use his head as a toilet in hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh! and here is another critic to... Jeff Smisek!
Hey Jeff! thanks for undermining the title "Continental"! You just undermined Continental's proud history and you are mocking the golden globe livery with BIG FAT "United" on it! You know what? Jeff? You should go to Mr. Gordon Berthune and apologize! His legacy brought Continental back to its feet BUT you are undermining true Continental identity! Personal opinion? Make a new livery!
Hey Frankie! let me tell you this you twerp!
Mr. Gordon Berthune had to start from hard times because of your insolence, the Continental crippled and shrunk! its routes. You just destroyed Robert F Six's proud golden tail! Thanks to you, COA lost international routes. Many? thought you were cool at first glimpse but your notorious actions showed you are a big piece of crap!
Francisco Lorenzo...? You lying little TWERP. He should be a case study in Biz schools of how a total lack of ethics WILL give Free Enterprise a very bad name.
PS I havent been a unionmember since 1973

Lorenzo is a total piece of garbage. He ruined so? many people and cut my retirement. There's a special spot in hell for that bastard.
Uh and um? Wow great answers Frank.?
There was a way? out for Eastern Thanks to the banksand their close relationship with Lorenzo, Eastern was sold in the middle of the night in a back room deal. Thanks Frank! My family woked for Eastern many years and I was on my way there too. Your business practices destroyed 36,000+ jobs. Sleep well.
This sociopath in a suit ruined a lot of good people who helped build the airline industry. No one wanted to work for Continental after he took over. It had the worst morale of any airline in history. He destroyed Frontier and Eastern Airlines. While he demanded 50% pay cuts from employees, he had a million dollar salary and raked in many more millions selling off stock before it later plummeted. He lives a wonderful life today sipping? champagne on his yacht he earned raping and pillaging.
go under at the time of the Texas Air (TAC) acquisition. Their management was mediocre at best. Charlie Bryan of the IAM was a head case even with Borman. I believe there was no way out for EA; it was better off bankrupt and reorganized. Lorenzo was foolish in buying it and it did him and TAC? in. BTW he had to sell NY Air's shuttle in order to get DOT approval for the EA purchase, which was stupid because it was profitable. TAC would have been far better off just with CO and New York Air.
@jhowe3: And after all these years you're still angry? I had family who? worked for EA in operations, I worked in marketing for New York Air then for EA's ad agency Campbell-Ewald, so one could say I knew many of the principals and had a seat in the auditorium as it all played out, the good, the bad and the downright ugly. EA was in bad shape and about to
Lorenzo, may you forever Rot? in Hell.
@donnafromnyc
Are you insane? What do you think Lorenzo did to Eastern? Eastern was the 2nd largest airline in the United States. Continental the 14th largest. He stripped Eastern of all of it's major assets, transferred most of it to Continental building them up to the 5th largest in size, selling off Eastern? assets that Continental didn't want, to Trump, Pan Am and American Airlines, then forcing a strike with the IAM, and putting Eastern in Bankruptcy so he could liquidate the rest.
Had Frank Lorenzo NOT bought Eastern Airlines--a disaster long before the acquisition--there might still be a? Texas Air Corporation. Most people don't know that Texas Air almost succeeded in buying TWA--I was at New York Air at that time and we were readying for it--and their 'savior' was a chap named Carl Icahn, who ripped and stripped that poor airline till it was down to the ribs. THAT Frank Lorenzo, because he loved the airline business, never would have done.
Watch the PBS "Frontline" episode "Flying Cheap" to see some of Lorenzo's? legacy! The airline industry was brought to new lows thanks to Texas Air and Frank Lorenzo!
Maggot.?
