China and Creativity are the keys to US Recovery
www.mccombs.utexas.edu Americans have grown accustomed to hearing gloomy news about the state of the union. Stymied by a stalling economic recovery and a volatile political climate, the country is rapidly losing ground to global competitors. But John Doggett, a senior lecturer in the Management Department at McCombs, says that if the US decides to take the revival of its competitiveness seriously, there is still hope. "We live in an amazing country. We have overcome challenges that would have destroyed other countries," said Doggett, in a recent talk for the Texas Enterprise Speaker Series. "We face serious problems, and serious problems equal great opportunities." In order to catch back up, he said, we must first realize how far we have fallen.

@edmorocate What? are you talking about?
Old policies are best than ever policies that been made now a days! The best thing you should do is to bring back the old policies on the table.?
The united? states should renew it's old policies that have brought this country to be the greatest, simple as that.
These are the brainwashing fools? who refuse to say(just once) BUY AMERICAN!
The U.S. dollar? is a debt instrument.
Very good piece. The problem with America is that everybody wants a job that pays $25/hr or more plus benefits working for a company that has foreign competitors that pay their own workers less than $5/hr with no benefits doing the same damn thing. That leads? to outsourcing or the company folds. America has to tighten its belt if wants to stay competitive globally.
Thank you very much? Instructor Doggett.
@stephentsang2000 that is because most teachers arent like the guy in the video. Most? teachers become teachers because they cant do anything else, such as people becoming bus drivers, ups workers, basically government jobs workers, not all people in these type of jobs lack creativity but most fall into that category. This guy is clearly a thinker and a doer. Today americans are reactors, they just react to things, anything they do is only to prove somebody wrong.
