If there are people willing to fix, make, teach or help for free, wouldn't that put others out of work or business, for example my friend works in computer? repair, if someone was willing to do it for free through this website, it will effect his work, in fact it might be detrimental enough to literally effect the economy and not in a positive way, I can see that lily means well but has she thought about the after effect it will have on society that is if it ever become popular.
uuuuuuuuchhhhhh. "I know that you've done hundreds if not thousands of hours research into this." Hold on a second, we're talking about a 24 year old grad student with a hefty modeling schedule as it is, or was, thats a little rich. Besides, this practice is quite? common in America, its called 'time banking'. Frankly I think we're watching a re invention of the wheel here folks.
Haters gonna hate!
?
Craigslist has been excellent for moving used furniture and like-new appliances to and fro, but then you ultimately saw the abduction of women, government investigations into prostitution, etc. At what point? will that inevitably happen to Impossible? This "let's be as open as we can" philosophy of Craig Newmark and Jimbo Wales tends to get out of control.
I think? the idea is brilliant and really is impressive as a concept.. I love it!! I wish I was technical so I could actually see how I could help out. But I wish them all the best and hope to see them come to fruition.
Really on-board that giving your time to others is beneficial to society, giving triggers social cohesion (a desirable quality for social networks) and they don't need a? business model (yet). They also probably have a nice looking beta (and great looking spokesperson!) but that appears to be it. Would love to know how they plan to approach - misuse, trust, adoption, authentication, UI, integration etc. Maybe will try to get beta. Not the best interview from Becky Anderson though.
In the same way the iPhone wasnt actually the first smartphone, but it was the first smartphone? to open the market to everyone, Facebook made social networking available to everyone
What is this women talking about? Facebook? wasn't a first mover!!
seen? this idea a few times before - good luck!
