What are paleo recipes? The paleo diet refers to a Paleolithic diet which is based on the foods our human ancient ancestors might likely have eaten, such as lean meat, nuts and berries. The basis of Paleo recipes lies in the belief that our bodies have evolved over the millennia to adapt to these foods and not to the foods in our modern diet, many of which were not in our diet until the last couple of hundred years or even less.

The Paleolithic period lasted from approximately from 2.5 million years ago until abut 10,000 years ago.
